Kamon spreading around the world
Kamon which is the traditional emblem of Japan has existed for about 1000 years. Kamon has been expanded as the important tool which represented a family’s identity. It is said that there are more than 20,000 types Kamon.
Although Japanese people don’t particularly think about Kamon at the present day, a person who has an interest in Kamon has increased around the world, because the designs of Kamon are unique and stylish.

Have you ever seen a Kikyo (Balloon flower) from the side?
Although there are many Kamon of Kikyo, the pattern designed the side of a flower is very rare!
Kikyo is considered to be good luck flower, because Kikyo:桔梗 has good combination of Chinese characters; 「更+吉」means “more lucky”!
In addition, Kikyo has a meaning of Superstition, because a samurai who was active from the Kamakura period to the Edo period said, “I tried put a Kikyo flower between an armour, and I could win the battle.”
The charm of Kikyo

However, Kikyo is also one of the Onnnamon (a crest for a female).
Kikyo has three languages of flower : “Abiding love”, “Neat and Clean ” and “Obedient ”. These words seems to represent a attraction of traditional Japanese women!
