This kanzashi is designed with a motif of the kimono pattern called “kamawanu”.

It is consisted of two Kanjis(Chinese character) 鎌(Hook) and 輪(circle), and Hiragana(Japanese character) ぬ(reading “nu”), and  it means ‘I don’t care’ or ‘Never mind’ in Japanese. This pattern became a big hit after a leading Kabuki actor ;Ichikawa DanjuroⅦ wore it on his stage in the late Edo period.
